In this life there are so many failures that face us as humans. Sometimes we fail ourselves, we fail others and others fail us. Some people have governed their hearts to be faithful when they get into a relationship and desire that their partner will be faithful to them. Many people are not faithful they will change without caring for about hurts, disappointments or consequences. The relationship can be marital, business or close friendship. Trust has become a very rare commodity especially in these last days.
Many people are inspired by actors, top sports players or those who are making the big money and they seem to be flawless but we must remember they are humans too. Some of them have failed others, have been hurt by others but at times all seems well. The writer of the song above must have gone through experiences where he came to the conclusion that the Almighty God is the only one that shows perfect faithfulness. He stated that there is no shadow of turning with God. This why it is good to put our trust in God because He is a God at His word. From generation to generation God still remain the same holy God. The Bible tells us in Jeremiah 17: 5 “Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord” If we turn from God’s faithfulness and put our trust in man, then we begin to live in idolatry which become a curse that we bring to our lives. It hurts the heart of God when we limit His faithfulness and urn to mankind for help and directives. Psalm 118: 8 “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man” All of us are limited so it is impossible for us to put our confidence in people and expect all will go well. God integrity always stand to His defense because He honor His word above His name.
Faithfulness depicts one of the characteristics of God. We then as followers of Christ must do our best to let our lives be endowed with this character. Faithfulness must be seen in our conversations, our relationships and our day to day actions. When money fail and people fail us our integrity will stand to speak of who we are. Let us be faithful to God and others around us allow Him to have His way in our lives. Our faithfulness to God will become a snare against devil because he will not have anything to use to accuse us. Our faithfulness will go before us as an act of faith and God will be pleased to do wonders for us. If we seek to follow God’s way and practice to be faithful then we will see the fruits of this blessing.
There are so many ways to be faithful & just as many ways to be unfaithful. The sad part is that the line between the two is becoming more blurred everyday.
