In the hustle and bustle of life have you ever thought about a place where you can find perfect peace? Have you ever thought of being in a place where your mind would never wonder about problems, needs or task left undone? This kind of a solace seems like we are talking about heaven and not possible in this life on earth. The Bible says in Job 14: 1 “Man that is born of a woman is of a few days and full of trouble” The Psalmist David also said in Psalms 88:3 “For my soul is full of troubles :and my life draweth nigh unto the grave” As humans we have so much to contend with
In an era where information sails through the globe at super speed and is accessible at the finger tip there will be so much for the brain and our emotions have to deal with before we can find tranquility. That is why God in His wisdom speaks to us through dreams and visions when to body is at rest from the labor of the day.
The impact of a peaceful surrounding: brings us in harmony with God who will be able to speak to us much clearer. It also causes us to see and remember important things of life we normally over look. It remove the toxic sounds that hurls through our ears and impacts our brain-waves. It eliminate the stresses that clutter our minds which causes us to to make bad decisions. A peaceful surrounding can enhance our health, reduce or even eliminate stresses. The functionality of the body’s organs will regulate at optimal level thus maintaining our youthfulness.
Peace is very vital to us as humans on the spiritual level. Whenever an angel of the Lord visits someone they would say, ‘peace be unto you’ Where no peace is there can be war. This can be physical, spiritual, mental, social and financial war. Whatever the trigger points are, we need the Holy Spirit to keep us in check. There the angel of the Lord was able to keep people in check when they visit them and talk with them by declaring ‘peace be unto you’. After the angel establish peace during a visitation then that angel can download information from the throne room of heaven to let us know the mind of God concerning a situation or what is to come. When the storm rose up while Jesus was sleeping on the ship and fear got a hold of the disciples and they woke Jesus. Jesus knows the value of peace, “rebuked the wind and spake to the sea, peace be still and the wind ceased and there was a great calm”
The Psalmist said in Psalm 122:7 “Peace be within thy walls and prosperity within thy palaces” This shows from his declaration he knows the value of peace. Also from this verse of scripture we see that if there is no peace prosperity will be lacking. We can talk about examples of lack of prosperity due to the lack of peace such as nations that are constantly engaging in wars certainly lacks peace and the prosperity of such nations diminish rapidly. There will be more death, infrastructure damages, lack of jobs, financial crisis will be overwhelming, debt burden will increase the society at large will suffer
How do we acquire this peace? 1. We must establish a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and receive this peace 2. We must put the word of God in practice and the Prince of Peace will draw near to us 3. Pray always, the Bible say in Luke 18: 1 “Men ought always to pray and not faint” Praying will take away the burden as we cast our cares on Jesus Christ 4. “Have salt in yourselves and have peace one with another.” Jesus wants us to be effective like salt and preserve the lives of people and live in peace one with another. 5. Be forgiving this remove the guilt of the offender and create peace in the heart so joy will be fulfilled.
May we take the peace that Jesus Christ gives St. John 14: 27 “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” May we proclaim peace by the leading of the Holy Ghost to stop the turmoil in our households, communities and nations. The table Jesus spread before us in the presence of our enemies may we sit there in peace. May our ways please God so that our enemies can be at peace with us. I proclaim peace in the work place, in the market place, the church, the parliament, the gym, the fields which the farmers work, in the hospital so the sick will rise and be heal by the virtue of Jesus Christ the Prince of Peace
