When we got born again in Christ we drank of the sincere milk of the word of God. It is just like babies that need milk for their development. As they grow they are then introduced to hard food but they get it crushed. As they continue in their development they then start to get hard food. The Christian’s life go through stages of development and it takes the skill of the church or those guiding that individual so that he or she can have proper development. All of us as Christians are called to battle. The battle is not with humans (flesh and blood) but with spiritual forces.
The moment we come to Christ and become born again. The enemy begin to oppose us to pull out back into the world. The devil understand that our salvation is a covenant and he seeks to make us break the covenant. This is a covenant made with blood and it is a very powerful one. This blood is the blood of Jesus Christ, who had not sin so He is the spotless Lamb of God. He took onto himself the sins of us all and defeat the power of sin on the cross, so we can have power to live above sin through Him. This why the devil is afraid of this blood covenant. He know we have access to the Father by the blood of Jesus and we are able to use it against him. He will do as much as he possible can to make us break it. The devil cannot break it he will use strategies to influence us to break this salvation covenant. The Bible says in Revelation 12: 11 “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death” This shows that we are victorious through the blood of Jesus Christ.
We now develop into skillful warriors through the word of God. We study the word and put it into practice. Remember the word of God is spirit and life. By taking the Bible and read it we are using a spiritual book to enhance our spirit man or build up ourselves for battle. I remember around May or June 2017 one night I was praying then I was led to read Psalm 3 somehow it felt nice and I read it again. At this time verse 6 stuck with me. I wrote Psalm 3 in my hand with a pen because I want to remember in the morning what I had read the night before (I do that sometimes) I went to sleep and I had dream were I was coming under attack from different sets of people. When I realized there was no way to escape I told myself that none of them will touch me. I felt that if I jump and came down hard on the ground something will happen. As I jump and coming back to the ground I hear myself say loud “I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about” this is the same verse 6 of Psalm 3 that stuck with me when I was reading the Bible. When I said that verse of scripture in the dream everyone around me disappeared. The Bible says in Hebrews 4: 12 “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” The word of God was quick and powerful in my situation to create deliverance. As we grow in the word it will also sharpen our spirit to help our discernment so we can know the thought and the intent of the heart of those around us. Sometimes people may not understand us or maybe surprise at how we know the hidden things that are happening, it is the working of the Spirit helping us because ourselves using the word of God.
We can also use the word of God to change situations in our lives. The Bible tells us in Job 22: 28 “Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways” When we learn the word of God and use it in our prayers we get results quicker because God is faithful to His word and God’s word cannot return to Him void, it have to accomplish it’s purpose. Using the word of God in prayer also help us to avoid going into error or pray amiss James 4: 3 “Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts” If we don’t know the word of God we will not be able to pray the will of God in our situations. This will cause us to pray according to feelings and we pray selfish prayers. The Bible already tells us that if we are not in the spirit then we are in the flesh and those that are in the flesh cannot please God.
The word of God will open us up into the revelation of our purpose and calling. That is why the Bible says in Galatians 5: 16 “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh” The word of God will lead us into understanding of things much more than our own natural ability. David said in Psalm 119: 99 “I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation” This is what the word of God will do to us. It enhances the capacity of our wisdom, knowledge, discernment that is why some of us operate in the gift of word of knowledge. For us to experience these great thing we must be diligent in obeying what the Word of God says so that the manifestation will begin.
