As we traverse the course of life we face challenges on a daily basis. At times it is hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Some challenges are common we would try to avoid while there are some are strange. Strange challenges are difficult to figure out, these take God’s intervention for us to understand what is going on. We all at times need encouragement which can come from various sources. Some might be good while some can lead us to make wrong choices

As we hear from sources around us which includes our love ones, friends, the radio program, t.v program or from an article, we can tap into a source that is always right and can never fail. This source is Jesus Christ. The Bible says in 1 Samuel 30: 6 “And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God” Here David was facing a very troubling situation and the Bible say he was distress but instead of bowing under the pressure David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.

How do we encourage ourselves in the Lord? First we must have an established relationship with God which ensure our trust in Him. Secondly we need to know what the word of God concerning His characteristics. Thirdly we need to know what God is saying about us

TO ENCOURAGE YOURSELF: Speak these words: God don’t want me to worry. No matter how hard things get I will not give up. I will still trust in God. God is working His purpose out in my life for my good. God has promise to carry me through these problem so I can’t give up. I will see the goodness of the Lord in these problems. God hears my prayers He reserves the best for me. Victory is my portion. Others shall learn from my testimony.

A LITTLE EXTRA: Be encouraged today. Sow the seed of good and reap a bountiful harvest of righteousness. Righteousness shall encompass us about on the left and on the right. Doors and gates of breakthroughs shall be open unto us. The Bible says in Proverbs 16: 7 “When a man’s ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him” Focus on Jesus Christ and let the problems set as distraction be buried by the light of Christ glory. Please Jesus Christ and He will take care of the robbers of our peace and joy.

  1. Yes! Thank you for your uplifting thoughts! I also loved reading these verses recently in Lamentations 3. It’s how a discouraged Jeremiah encouraged himself, I believe…. “But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: lThe steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning;great is your faithfulness.“The LORD is my portion,” says my soul,“therefore I will hope in him.”…

    • Amen so true God don’t want us to worry. He wants us to be happy. Worry hinders us from focusing well and cause us to miss what God want to tell us.
