Love Is A Powerful Weapon

The nature of God is love and He expressed His perfect love towards us as St. John 3: 16 “For God so love the world that he gave His only begotten son” God the Father gave His only son Jesus Christ whose blood was shed to pardon our sins. Jesus the Son of the Living God himself expressed His true love for us by His obedience to the Father in willing to suffer for us. Jesus then teach his disciples about love in John 13: 35 “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another” Hearing this command from Jesus, it is our duty to obey by putting love in practice. Love is very powerful once we use it in a selfless way. Being selfish shows limitation to prefect love. Another word used in the Bible in place of love is called ‘charity’ In 1 Peter 4: 8 “And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins”. We may see the word charity as giving. Well love is something we give and receive and we express love by giving selflessly. If love covers a multitude of sin then love forgives. Love is able position us on the right path because of love we will tell someone the truth or they will tell us the truth so we all will be able to walk in the right path. When a minister of the gospel have experienced the love of God he or she is more than willing to share this passion to be a blessing to others.

We have seen that love is powerful now we can look at love as a weapon. The devil cannot have love neither can he express love he doesn’t have that nature. His nature now is for evil and wickedness. If he try to show love then there is corruption and destruction wrapped up within. When we put what the Bible says about love in practice then it becomes a weapon we can use to defeat the enemy. How can we use love as a weapon? First Jesus said if you love me keep my commandment. When we keep His commandments we oppose the devil and walk in righteousness. This how we show appreciation for Christ perfect love for us. Practicing the Bible way of love the devil will have no room to infiltrate us. We can also see how love works in unity as a weapon to hinder the move of the enemy. Acts 2 : 42- 47 ‘And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ [a]doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. 43 Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. 44 Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, 45 and [b]sold their possessions and goods, and divided[c] them among all, as anyone had need. 46 So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added [d]to the church daily those who were being saved” We see that this unity of love increases kindness, selflessness, salvation, humility, eradication of poverty, steadfastness in the doctrine and the fear of the Lord The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, this is a holy fear. Christ love cast out all fear, which is the fear of the devil and his threats. Christ has established us in His power through His love

Putting love in practice and wisely use it as a weapon in this spiritual fight can help us live a victorious Christian life. Let us love one another as Christ commands us. This will limit the heartache and sorrow we see in society everyday. Let us shine in love so someone can see the light and come to know who Jesus Christ is.
