In the world today are information going about with ease of access. Electronic media has become enhanced by the development of social media. No matter where we are in this world it’s easy to know what is going on in another part of the world. The knowledge of many cultures are easily understood as many people are able to express themselves.
The information travelling across the different medias have their different significance. Some will empower us while some cause us to make wrong choices. The task is to be able to know where what we see and hear impact us.
The voices are speaking even if there is a video without sound the picture alone impacts our thoughts and cause a voice to play out in our head either good or bad.
Along with the hustle and bustle and trying to decipher what is important we must acknowledge the voice of the Lord. 1 Corinthians 14: 10 tells us “There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of the is without signification”. Therefore all the voice have their purpose but we must chose what is good for us. As Christians it should be our priority to be able to hear the voice of the Lord over ever other voices. Let us look at some scriptures on the expression of the voice of the Lord
From Psalms 29 The voice of the Lord is upon the waters The voice of the Lord is powerful The voice of the Lord is full of majesty. The voice of the Lord divideth the flames of fire The voice of the Lord shaketh the wilderness
As sheep of the Lord we are suppose to follow the voice of the Lord. We are privilege to have some walking in us and with us. John 14: 26 “But the Comforter, [which is] the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you” The Holy Ghost will teach us and as sheep we will hear and follow.
To determine the voice of the Lord we have to walk in the spirit. God knows how to get our attention. Elijah ran away from the threat of Jezebel to hide himself and God came to talk to him. In 1 Kings 19: 11-13 And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake:12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.13 And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah? We see here Elijah was able to discern the presence of the Lord by the voice of the Lord. Even though the voice of the Lord was described as still and small it was was powerful. As Holy Spirit led children of God we hear the voice of the Lord through His words (logos), in our spirit, audible or through His servants
May we never miss the voice of the Lord. May the voice of the Lord help us to be what God wants us to be. May we experience the voice of the Lord in to trials. May the voice of the Lord cause us to excel in all our endeavors.
